They celebrate Quint's birthday in the 1st book. It's been probably 18 months since the start of the first book. So they'd be about 14 now.

I think about the book's big idea a bunch, I outline a bunch, and then I force myself to write. If I get stuck, I talk out loud and pretend I'm brainstorming with a really, really smart and clever friend. Have fun at camp.

I dunno about an origin story... but I've played around with a few different ideas where we get to see a full Skaelka adventure or a full monster-dimension adventure. I'd like to do it someday! But I'm always hesitant about origin stories, because each individual reader imagines different stuff and what they imagine is probably really amazing and different. Even if I wrote the best origin story ever, it wouldn't compete with thousands of readers' thousand of different, rad ideas. Y'know? That's why I tend to dislike pretty much all prequels.

Yep! I'd still be writing. I've written other books series, like Eerie Elementary, Mister Shivers, and Galactic Hot Dogs. So I'd be working on some other book series -- but no idea what it would be!
