Sandy Curtis Creating entertainment for readers. Taking them to other worlds and into the lives of characters they can care about. I love that my stories can give readers enjoyment. My characters come alive for me, and I hope they do for my readers.
Sandy Curtis Be determined. You can have all the inspiration in the world, but if you don't do the writing it won't matter.
Go to industry conferences like GenreCon, run by the Queensland Writers Centre, or genre-specific conferences such as those run by the Romance Writers of Australia or America or the many spec fic cons that keep you up to date with what the industry is looking for.
But above all else, write, write, write. And learn how to edit your work.
Sandy Curtis I started writing A Solitary Man a couple of months ago but life intervened and it's only now that I'm getting back into it. It started as a rural romance but is quickly becoming a rural romantic suspense. Can't help myself - I love a good plot and stories that gallop or canter along rather than a slow trot :-)

The characters, Jessica Munroe and Lawson Kelleher, came to me fully formed, so how could I resist writing their story? Jess, in particular, deserves to have some happiness after what she's been through, and Lawson is just the man to provide it.
