The action in my second novel takes place in an Ottawa book shop and in the apartment above where the owner and his English professor wife live. There are regular literary and musical gatherings at the bookstore which highlight the evolving characters and plot.

What works best for me is to be busy with what I like and need to do, and watch how my mind is at work writing, even when I'm not putting pen to paper. Stepping back this way, for however long it takes, is part of my writing process.
