My novels are centered in the deep connections between us all. I draw inspiration from everything around me. My quotidian experiences, articles I've read, stories I've read and heard, movies and television shows that touched me.
This novel started with a new pair of hiking boots. I was a girl scout as a teenager and I spent a lot of time backpacking and hiking. My new boots reminded me of my love of the woods. Then, hundreds of other experiences colluded to push this story to the forefront of my mind.

a Story of Summers began as a series of fantasies about what my early twenties would have looked like if I had made very different decisions. From there characters emerged and their stories unfolded in ways I would not have imagined at the beginning of my thought experience. It was a fascinating exploration of my own imagination.
