In a way there a lot of perks about being a writer. I especially would advocate being a writer of fiction. The prime reason being that as a fiction writer, you can let your mind wander to places you have never been. Whereas when you are writing non fiction, there is a limit to your imagination. It is indeed true for the fiction writer to say 'Writing sets you free'
