Novalee Swan Writing the ending the way I want.
Novalee Swan Sit down and start typing. Do it every day. Read The Art of Fiction by David Lodge. Read books in the genre you want to write in. Edit. Edit. Edit.
Novalee Swan I've got a few things going on. The first is a contemporary erotic romance between Elijah, a former special forces soldier who is now the CEO of a security firm, and Miranda, his personal assistant. Eli has strong feelings for Miranda, but he's kept them to himself. That changes when he and Mira are abducted. This is book one in a new series and there's a preview on my website.

I'm also working on a new adult romance about Evangeline, a damaged young rebel who refuses to fall for Lincoln, the hottest, most determined cowboy in Montana. Linc is a one-woman man, and the woman he wants is Evie. This is also book one in a new series called Phoenix Falls, about a Montana ranch dedicated to helping foster kids, and what happens when those kids are all grown up.
Novalee Swan Usually, through reading. A book, or a scene in a book, will spark my emotions and I'll want to write stories that do the same thing for my readers.
Novalee Swan Lucas and Sofia were characters in earlier books in the Shifter Town Series, just begging me to put them together. They both owned their own businesses — Lucas is a mechanic and Sofia runs a deli cafe — and I just wondered where it would lead if they *happened* to work across the street from each other...
Novalee Swan Freewriting. I just keep typing anything and everything until I burrow through. Generally it's rubbish, but like most journeys, you eventually get there.
