'Purple Kisses' was a poem I wrote one summer inspired by a wall of bougainvillea at my university. It was first published in the Linnet's Wings magazine and subsequently reprinted in a couple of others. As I received positive reviews about the poem, I kept thinking about the original image that the reader will probably never see. That is when I thought about the idea of illustrating the poem line by line into a single poem picture book.

I think the best thing about being a writer is that you share your thoughts with people in the present and in the future. I like it when readers relate to my poems written long time back. I feel that every piece of writing - a poem or a story - is a moment or a mood bottled to last longer than it would have otherwise.

My upcoming projects include an illustrated poem picture book due publication in 2017. It is a collaboration with my friend and artist Niveditha Warrier and is something I'm very excited about at the moment. :)
