Kimberly Hockaday This may sound strange but when I was a child my favorite book was the Babysitter's Club book. The characters lived in a fictional town called Stoneybrook but it always sound like a fun and safe place to live.
Kimberly Hockaday I actually did not have any books on my summer reading list. I just randomly choose books to read when in the mood to read.
Kimberly Hockaday My poetry book "A Mourner's Diary:Poems of Grief and Healing" was a book that wasn't planned to be written or published. In 2016 I lost two relatives to cancer. During that time majority of my poems were about them. One day I decided that I needed to share the poems with the world and it was also my way of honoring my relatives. Many people have experienced grief but often our thoughts we keep to ourselves and sometimes may feel ashamed of some of our thoughts. Sharing this book is my way of letting others know that it is OK and it will get better. The book are filled with personal thoughts that may not always bee shared.
Kimberly Hockaday My advice to aspiring writers is to simply keep writing and never give up. Success doesn't come overnight and doesn't have an age limit.
