Ana Spoke Thank you for asking, William - I am currently in the middle of writing the third book in my Isabella Maxwell Escapades series. Much like in Shizzle, Inc and Indiot, nothing goes as planned for Isa, no matter how hard she tries to fix things up. I'm aiming to release it in January, just in time for Winter #ComedyBookWeek event.
Ana Spoke I wanted to pick an exotic destination that would capture Isa's imagination and also be a huge cultural shock for her, as the first overseas destination. It was no contest - India had to be the one. I hope to visit it myself some day...
Ana Spoke Hi, Jean! I would say it is a bit more like British - drier and self-depricating. Plus, of course, it relies on the intimate knowledge of Australian culture. One thing I still don't quite get is just how much Aussies love to "take the piss" on each other. It doesn't seem to affect them, and the person who's the butt of a joke is expected to give it back, and preferably up the anty.
Ana Spoke It started with a joke email to my sister, a spoof of the famous interview scene from "50 Shades of Gray", in which protagonist falls down yet gets attention from the billionaire. My sister laughed to tears and demanded more. I wrote more. You can say Shizzle, Inc was an email soap opera before I've decided that there was enough comedy there to turn it into a novel.
