My most recent book is my memoir "Agony and Ecstasy of Finding My Voice" so you can guess where my ideas came from for that. A totally enjoyable time for me. I loved digging into my memories about what's impacted my life, warts and all.

Frankly I use the greatest device on earth, the computer. If I get an idea of something I'd like to develop a story around I think of key words or phrases on the topic and start looking on the computer. One of my favorite themes is treasure hunting and believe me there's a ton of information on the net about that.

The only way to start is to sit down and write what's in your mind about what you want to write. Most of us get hung up on believing we have to have it all thought out before we put pen to paper, or should I say fingers on the keyboard. Not so, just write and let your mind take you into your story. Once you've written something down then you'll begin to feel what it's going to be like and things will start to flow.

Spending time in the imaginary worlds I write about. I become completely engrossed and wonder where the time went when I realize I've been writing several hours. I love letting my mind roam my imagination.

I haven't hit that problem yet, probably because I've been going back and revising my earlier short reads and thinking about consolidating more of them. I'm anxious to move forward on several new ideas and that should happens as soon as I finish my revisions.
