Reis Armstrong My most recent book, which is called "Brooklyn Goodbye", was inspired after watching The Notebook. That movie just stirred up something inside of me. I wanted it my novel to have that same emotional impact, but I knew it had to be different. So I changed the setting, kept the love, and added in a major catastrophe ... September 11th
Reis Armstrong Love inspires me. I'm such a hopeless romantic. Titanic was the movie that actually inspired my novel A Day In August. Also, certain situations that I may encounter in life, in relationships, are always a part of my inspiration. A lot of times, even songs inspire me to write. Mainly Adele, lol. :)
Reis Armstrong I am currently working on a novel titled, "Brooklyn Goodbye". Set in 2001, It's the story of an interracial teenage couple who battle with infidelity, pleasure, and family secrets. I'm so in love with this story. It's the first installment of my trilogy series. I can't wait for you all to read it!
Reis Armstrong NEVER GIVE UP! The moment you give up on your dreams, is the moment your dreams give up on you. When looking for literary agents and/or publishers, you'll get a thousand "No's" before you get that one "Yes". Don't be discouraged. Some of the greatest writers were turned down and rejected literally hundreds of times before landing a publishing deal. Also, write from your heart. If you don't write from your heart, readers won't believe a word you say, even if you're writing fiction.
Reis Armstrong The best thing about being a writer is being able to create these wonderful worlds that never existed! Everything from picking the city, the names of the characters, their looks, their, personalities. It's truly the most exciting part to me. To create something that never existed until you thought of it, is a blessing. I grow so attached to my characters. So much so, that I begin to miss them.
Reis Armstrong Hello!

So sorry for the tardy response! To deal with writer's block, I usually just take a break. To me, that's my body's way of telling me that it's time to hit the refresh button; whether it's getting some fresh air, drinking water, eating, or even just lying in the dark and meditating. #HopeThisHelps
