Alexa Jacobs Oh, good question!! There are so many possibilities. Though I write contemporary romance, I read across all genres of romance. I feel as though I am trying to choose among my children.

I'm a bit of a sci-fi junkie, so immediately my mind goes to Zoe and Wash from Firefly, or Madam Vastra and Jenny Flint from Doctor Who! But then that opens my mind to TV all together and before I know it Cory and Topanga show up, as do Ross and Rachel, or Joey and Pacey, Carl and Elle (talk about #relationshipgoals), Angel and.....Cordelia (YES, I think Buffy is better suited to Spike). I was and forever will be a Team Jess Gilmore Girl. And let us all have marriages like Cliff and Claire Huxtable.

Book-wise, my mind can go a million different directions. Believe it or not my favorite couple in Rising Ridge isn't Olivia and Dean! It's actually Connor and Elle (though I'd have to take Didier and Lorraine out of the running because that's not fair to anyone).

I will go with Edmund and Fanny from Mansfield Park! Shocker, right? These two spent their entire lives together and were the best of friends. There is something so compelling to me when you have the opportunity to fall in love with every little thing about a person and be unconditionally in love with them before you realize that you are.

I have to say, in the Johnny Lee Miller version of it all...the kiss that almost was, and when he professes his love to Fanny....*****SWOON****
Alexa Jacobs Pay attention to the world! Open your mind to the quiet, and hear the whispers that you don't normally hear when your mind is busy.
Alexa Jacobs Meeting my characters. Sometimes I know them before I write about them, and sometimes I meet them along the way. I have fallen completely in love with people that I've created, and gone on adventures with them that I had no idea I was going to go on.
Alexa Jacobs Same thing I tell my children. If you're going to be in, be all in. If you're going to be weird, be the best weird. If you're going to do something unique, be the best.
Take your time, you're worth the wait.
Alexa Jacobs I am working on a book called The Dreamer, and I am beyond excited to bring it to life. It's got a bit of a suspense element to it, which should be fun for readers. Love isn't always found on a straight path!
Alexa Jacobs I can be inspired by something as small as the perfect cup of tea as the fall leaves blow around my window, or as big as witnessing love bloom. Usually, it's born of my desire to rewrite the situations I see, or my desire to think about where life would go if I had turned left instead of right.
Alexa Jacobs This book has been sitting with me for a very long time. The teenage girl in me was always a dreamer.
