L.E. DeLano If you wait until you're inspired to write, you'll never finish your book. Sit down and write, and the inspiration will come. It might take a while, but it does.
L.E. DeLano I'm in final edits for DREAMER, the sequel to TRAVELER. After that, I have two different stories warring for time in my head - one is a rollicking epic fantasy adventure based on the mythology of ancient Ireland, and the other is more of a sci-fi thriller set in the here and now. Not sure which is going to win!
L.E. DeLano I can go anywhere in the universe and make it mine.
L.E. DeLano I'd have to go with Wanda and Ian from The Host. Their part of the weirdest love triangle (quadrangle?) in literature, but it's also amazing to read.
L.E. DeLano When I was a kid, we lived in England, and I happened to see "Alice Through the Looking Glass" in a rerun on the BBC. This was the 1974 version, which is more than a little creepy. After that, I caught a glimpse of myself in our hallway mirror, and I swear to you, I saw the "other" me blink. It was months before I could look in a mirror again! It made me wonder what it would be like if I could "step through."
L.E. DeLano Write your book. Finish it. I spent a decade with a half-dozen half-finished books around me and a half-dozen terrific ideas jumbling around my brain and not a one of them finished. The funny thing is, a published book is a finished book. Always. So pick a project, give it your all, and finish it.
L.E. DeLano You write. It's that simple, and that hard. You just do it. You power through, even if you feel like you're writing crap. And when you go back and look it over, you plant a seed in all that crap and eventually it grows - quite often in ways that surprise you!
