Hanna Abi Akl Hmm...Well one of the big mysteries in my personal life was to try and find a meaning to living. To find some sort of purpose; something to live for. I guess that would be a good starting point for a book plot. I could make a story about a protagonist trying to find his way through life. And why not even make him go on silly adventures and experiences along the way?
Hanna Abi Akl Arturo Bandini and Camilla Lopez. She represented everything his writing lacked, every bit of inspiration he was looking for to thrive as a writer. Their love and relationship were unlike any other; they formed the basis of the writer's art and showed how truly inspiring human beings can be and how passion and powerful sentiments could be immortalized in words.
Hanna Abi Akl Writer's block can be a tricky thing. You're never sure how long it will last and it can really kill your writing flow or seriously hamper it. What works for me is making a schedule for writing and trying to stick to it. For example, I would decide on writing one blog post on my personal blog every week. This helps me maintain a steady flow and ensure I am never out of tune with my writing rhythm as it forces me to continually brainstorm for ideas and possible writing material and helps me avoid the deadly trap that is writer's block.
Hanna Abi Akl The best thing about being a writer is being in control of your material. I once read a piece of advice that was intended for aspiring writers which said something along the lines of: "Write something you'd want to read". I am a firm believer in this statement. I believe the best thing for a writer is to be able to write down his own thoughts, his feelings, his opinions - basically the way he sees and understands his entire world (or struggles or fails to). It's being able to say what you want without worrying about it being right or wrong.
Hanna Abi Akl Inspiration is a funny thing because it doesn't have a precise form. It can be anything: sometimes I am inspired by a paragraph I read in one of my favorite books. Sometimes it's a quote. Sometimes it's a small dialogue or short segment in a movie or TV series that inspires me. It can be a song, it can be a word, it can be a real-life event. If it's powerful enough, then it will get to you and move you and suddenly you're inspired and you're writing.
Hanna Abi Akl Always believe in yourself no matter what the world tells you...no matter where you come from or the people you are surrounded by, if you have an idea or urge or passion to write then nothing will stop you.

Also, write. Write every day to become better at it. Write in bed, in the bathroom, in the car, during lunch breaks...if you want to become a successful writer and hone your skills there is no other way than to write.
Hanna Abi Akl Currently I am focusing on my poetry. I am completing my fifth volume of poems and am also regularly active on my personal blog.
Hanna Abi Akl My most recent book was inspired from day-to-day Lebanese life. I got the idea for my book by observing the social milieu I lived in, the setting, the people...it is a book inspired by real events, real circumstances stemming from a real place on the world map.
