Jane Corry I’m so sorry for the delay. For some reason, I’ve only just found this in Goodreads. My new book is called The Dead Ex and it came out at the end of June. It’s already a Sunday Times bestseller. I do hope you enjoy it. Thank you so much for your wonderful comments about my books. Do keep in touch. Very best wishes, Jane
Jane Corry I was told that the Waterstones event has been cancelled because of staff shortages. I’m so sorry not to meet you. In answer to your questions, I don’t normally read psychological suspense because I don’t want my my own writing to be influenced. However, I am sometimes asked to give quotes on other people’s books. I tend to read in various genres. I’ve just finished Anita Shreves’ The Weight Of Water which was rather dark and fascinating. I’m now reading Andrea Levy’s Fruit Of The Lemon which is wonderful. Thank you for reading my books. Do you live in Devon? Very best wishes,
Jane
Jane Corry I've only had this once and that was when my first marriage ended. It lasted for about two minutes because I forced myself to sit down in a corner and just write. It became my therapy.
Jane Corry It's doing something which I love.
Jane Corry Choose a subject which you feel passionate about. Don't try to fit your writing to the current trend. If possible, write every day so you keep the story going in your head. It doesn't matter if it's just half page. It all adds up. Make sure that each of your character has a problem. Problems = tension which is a good thing in fiction!
Jane Corry I never talk about what I'm writing - otherwise it can take away the need to tell the story! However, I can say that I'm nearly three-quarters of the way through and that I'm very excited by it.
Jane Corry It's just 'in me'. Rather like breathing.
Jane Corry From working as a writer in residence at a high-security male prison - and also from marriage! I wondered what would happen if a second wife needed to ask a big favour from the first....
