Hi Tim, some of my books are in German and Polish, and I'd love to add Dutch to the list, but it'd take a Dutch publisher stepping in and that's outside of my control.

Hi, I would love for more books to be published in Poland, but it's up to Fabryka Slow. Currently, we have nothing else under contract.

Then my advice is to add an exclamation point! Seriously though, thanks for the comment. It's still weird to me when someone other than my mom actually finished one of the books... Appreciate it Alan.

Hi Thomas, it is for adults, though it's not as dark as a lot of the fantasy that's coming out these days. In terms of "adult-ness" and overall feel, it compares to David Eddings, Terry Brooks, or Robert Jordan. In several of the books there is one big curse word, but generally only one. There is sexual content, but it's not highly explicit. There is a lot of violence and drinking. Hope that helps!

(view spoiler)[Hi Robin, there are not any summaries online that I'm aware of. A quick and dirty summary (spoilers if you haven't read 1-3!!!):
Book 1 - Ben and friends travel to the City to drop off Meghan and Amelie at the Sanctuary. They settle down there for a brief moment, until they're forced to flee by a pending betrayal.
Book 2 - Ben and Amelie flee with Ben's friend Mathias. They head toward Northport where they hope to get assistance. They meet up with Towaal and Rhys again, and venture into the Wilds where they destroy the rift and defend Northport.
Book 3 - They travel across the northern part of the continent, going to the Coalition capitol Irrefort where they hope to find members of the secretive Purple. They meet up with an ancient mage Jasper, and cross swords with Lord Jason. They don't connect with any living members of the Purple, but get a clue which sends them far away to the South Continent where they hope to find other members of the Purple.
And then we pick up with Book 4.
Not sure that satisfies, but that's the very broad strokes ;) (hide spoiler)]

Hi Steven, no specific questions. I've been reading out to 'friend' people who've left solid reviews on my books. I'm trying to expand my network on Goodreads and improve the recommendations it give me ;) I figured the best place to find people with similar taste was people who liked my books! Thanks for accepting and glad you enjoy my stories!

Good luck out there TJ!

Hi TJ, sorry for the slow response! I use Deranged Doctor Design for my covers. They are affordable, extremely professional, and do a good job of capturing the right feel for a genre. That being said, they do a lot of covers, and occasionally some of them have a similar feel. For a more thorough answer to this and the million other questions that come with self-publishing, I suggest getting on Facebook and looking up some author groups there. I am not a Facebook guy naturally, but it is the primary way authors connect with each other. Kboards (the website) is another excellent place to network with fellow authors.

Great question! The most difficult part of any character is making them relatable, and sometimes it's a bit challenging to put yourself in the shoes of a younger person (or any person different from you, I suppose). You have to understand why they would do certain things. Particularly in the case of a younger person, they do not benefit from whatever wisdom age and experience has granted us. Said differently, kids do dumb things sometimes, but they do them for reasons that make sense to them... To write a younger person, or any person, that's the part you've got to nail - why do they do what they do?
The second part of your question - I didn't make a conscious effort to differentiate Ben from famous protagonists, except in regard to the concept of a "Chosen One". I thought a lot about that in books like Eddings' Belgariad, but there are endless other examples. Fantasy is filled with Chosen Ones. The prince, the secret magician, the son of a god, all kinds of things. I don't believe Chosen Ones exist in real life, but there are heroes. In Benjamin Ashwood, I explore what can happen when a regular guy with a lot of potential is exposed to extraordinary events. Sometimes he's lucky, sometimes he's unlucky, and through all of that, how does he become the hero the world needs?

Hi Keith, I am targeting a June 2017 release for Dark Territory (Book 3). The plan is for 6 books in the series and they will all be released about 6 months apart. They aren't written yet, so that is more of a goal than a promise!
