Sriram Subramanian You've got all these ideas, situations, characters in your head and it's a wonderful feeling making them come alive. Nothing beats that.
Sriram Subramanian Read extensively. I believe you need to be a good reader, before you can become a good writer.

Work on your craft. It takes years and years of slow, painstaking improvement...till you have mastered all the 'rules' instinctively, and you can then judge which rules you can break for conscious reasons.

Have faith in your story. And be true to your characters. If there's a voice in your head that says you're taking the easy route (with respect to plot, character actions and so on), it's probably right.
Sriram Subramanian I have multiple interests...writing is only one of them. Family, work (I run a corporate training firm by day), sports, music, reading...so whenever I feel I'm low on inspiration in my writing, I just switch to one of the other interests...then it comes back.
