Josh Hatcher Right now, I'm primarily working on my podcast, The Manlihood ManCast - and less on writing. But I will be doing some more writing in the near future.
Josh Hatcher You are living in an unprecedented time when you can write and publish whatever you want. You do not need an industry to give your writing value. Getting "published" or discovered by a "publisher" is like getting a record deal or drafted to a pro sports team. So do it yourself, and write for your audience. Then learn how to market and monetize that. But write for writing's sake. If you write something that helps you make the big time, GREAT. But whether you do or not - write anyway. Write with the dream of being a bestseller, but don't let NOT being a bestseller stop you from writing.
Josh Hatcher Most of my work is self-help or poetry. The best part of "self-help" is helping someone. The best part of poetry is helping myself.
Josh Hatcher Badly.
I write in spurts.
Josh Hatcher Every murder is a part of the same universe. They are all connected with a thousand tiny threads.
Josh Hatcher Growing up in the small town of Roulette, PA (pop 700 in the 80s and 90s) there were several murders in that small town's history. My buddies and I used to camp behind a place where an axe murder occurred, and I remember camping out there before they had caught the murderer. So many "Stand by Me" and "IT" type adventures that we had as kids surrounding all of those evil stories, and I've been whittling away at a horror novel that tells those stories in a fictionalized way. I'm not normally a fiction writer, but I really want to tell these stories, and it seems like the way that makes the most sense.
