What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Kate Pullinger Read as much as you can, write as much as you can, and follow your own interests. Get feedback from the right places, and be ruthless. Draft, re-draft, and re-draft again. Then lie down in the shade.

What’s the best thing about being a writer?

Kate Pullinger The best thing about writing is being able to chase down and develop ideas for stories and characters - when it goes well (which isn't all that often in my experience), it is more absorbing and engaging than pretty much anything else in the world.
