(view spoiler)[Hi Dana, just wondering is there any chance you will write a Kate Shugak novel going back to when Kate met Jack? Love the series btw. Thanks - Jax (hide spoiler)]
Dana Stabenow
Thanks, Jax! I hadn't thought of it, but it doesn't mean I won't one day. Stay tuned...

Okay, this is embarrassing to relate--I've never owned a dog, although I've known a bunch of them. All I can tell you is that Mutt bounced out into the middle of the first chapter of the first Kate Shugak novel and has taken over every scene she's been in ever since.
Dana Stabenow
Thank you so much, Ashlyn! I'll write another Kate Shugak novel when the right plot for it comes along. It hasn't yet, probably partly because I'm loving writing the Eye of Isis novels at the moment. But I'm always looking, so stay tuned.
Dana Stabenow
I missed that one, S.G. Thanks for pointing it out. I've got a subscription and I'll put it on my to-read list.
Dana Stabenow
Thanks, Bill! Sorry it took me so long to see your comment. For some reason it didn't pop up in my notifications feed on Goodreads.
Dana Stabenow
We only have plans for a Kindle edition so far, Lif.
Dana Stabenow
Not as often as I once did, I don't have the time, but yes, still posting on stabenow.com.
Dana Stabenow
First, tell her thanks from me! Next, I'm working on Kate22 as we speak. It's called No Fixed Line, and more here: https://stabenow.com/2018/12/30/ten-n...
Dana Stabenow
Yes, I do, Michael.
Dana Stabenow
Delighted to hear you'll give Death of an Eye a chance, Kathy, thanks!
Dana Stabenow
[laughing] No, tell him no word of the day calendar, just a wordy writer. Delighted he (and you) are enjoying the series. The books got longer partly because I stopped having to write two a year, but I notice a book is as long as it takes to tell the story it's telling. Though Not Dead is the longest one because the third plot line, jim's, just showed up in the middle of writing the book and demanded to be included. When the muse knocks you have to get up and answer the door.
Dana Stabenow
Thanks, Levi! I'm elbowing into Kate22 even as we speak. It picks up almost immediately after Kate21 leaves off. Don't have a publication date or even a title yet.
Dana Stabenow
Sorry about the error, and thanks!

(view spoiler)[I’m glad Kate will continue and that Mutt is back! I’m the type of person who hates it when the dog dies! My question is: How do you keep the past history of your characters straight (ie: whom is related to whom, who’s died, etc.) in your story lines, especially in a series like Kate Shugak? (hide spoiler)]
Dana Stabenow
I have a timeline that I add to with every novel, otherwise I would be perennially confused.

(view spoiler)[Hi Dana
I live in Australia and I am after The Liam
Campbell series in book form as I would like to request the books through my local Library, but to do this I need to know the date of publication of all five books as I will have to do an internal request.
Could you please advise.
PS--I have read all the Kate Shugak mystery books. Is there any more to come?
Thanks Heaps

Yes. I'll begin writing Kate22 in September.
Dana Stabenow
Yes, there are more books planned in the Eye of Isis series. I do have other series, and you can read about them here: https://stabenow.com/e-books/ And thanks to you and your husband both for the compliments!
Dana Stabenow
Hi, Melissa! Right now I'm working on The Eye of Isis, a mystery set in Alexandria in the time of Cleopatra, featuring Cleopatra's "fixer."
When that's done, I'll move on to the 22nd Kate Shugak novel. I don't yet have a pub date, but most likely sometime next year. Right now I'm writing The Eye of Isis, about Cleopatra's fixer set in Alexandria during Cleopatra's life. Next I'll write the 22nd Kate Shugak novel. And Mutt hasn't needed a jump seat so far. Thanks, Deborah!
Dana Stabenow
Thanks, Mike. It was a [relatively] easy write. I'd been thinking about it for a long time.
