I've been very fortunate to have incredibly imaginative and intelligent fans. They ask great questions, and demand great answers.

Try to figure out which stories are really yours to tell, and tell the SHIT out of them.

I've had family living in Knoxville, Tennessee for many years. My first memorable visit was in 1982, when I went during the World's Fair, but I eventually returned to live there full-time in my 30's, when I attended the University of Tennessee to get my degree in Anthropology. The book I'm currently writing grew out of my love for the history and people of eastern Tennessee and the Smoky Mountains.

Writer's block is no different from any other symptom of mental illness. Treat the illness, the block will go away--you'll either get back to writing, or you'll figure out why you don't want to write right now.

Everything inspires me to write! Writing is one of my major responses to stimuli.
I write when I'm happy, sad, angry, curious, playful, or scared. I write sometimes to explore an idea or to vent my pain.
I also write because ideas, stories and characters pop into my head, and sometimes they absolutely will not go away until I write them. So...it's kind of a rite of exorcism.

(view spoiler)[Tough question. Most fictional worlds are unpleasantly fraught with peril! You might see something cool for five seconds, but then you just get eaten by a dragon or blown up by an imperial cruiser.
I wouldn't mind going to one of Erin Morgenstern's worlds, though. They seem cozy, beautiful, and relatively safe for NPCs--at least within reason. It might be fun to join the Night Circus, or spend a lifetime puttering around the Starless Sea, reading and writing magical books and having the magical bees make me snacks and tea. (hide spoiler)]
