I put it down and play with my grandkids. I take a hike. I fold laundry. I try very hard not to stress about it. I free myself up creatively again by occupying my mind with other things. More times than not, my GK's give me ideas. Or it comes to me in the middle of the night. I keep a notebook by the bed (yes, I know I'm old school that way) to jot them down, and I don't forget them. Sometimes a glass of wine helps too. 😉

Well - it's free to write. It gives me an enormous amount of satisfaction when I put my words down. During Covid, it honestly kept me sane while being cooped up. I am enjoying getting feedback from my followers (yes even the negative, as it gives me an opportunity to grow and learn).

Do it! I know my first attempts were horrible. I know that I made many mistakes. But I am learning from them and thats the important piece.
Also, reach out to other writers for mentoring. You may get a mentor that shares invaluable advice. And it never hurts to ask - what's the worse they can say?

I am currently putting most of my efforts into my new series - The Guardians of the Cathedral. It's a fantasy/romance/mystery/thriller. It is completely different than my first romance series, but I feel that this is the space where I was meant to write. Not that I am giving up on Contemporary Romance, but I have a few ideas for other fantasy/romance that I want to explore. Stay tuned!

Well, honestly Covid happened and I was stuck at home. I needed an outlet and started writing one night. This is how my Escape to Fort Myers Beach series came about.
I tell a lot of stories to my grandchildren. Most often, on-demand, but the GK's always have details they want to hear. Dragons, trolls, evil witches, family members, pets, etc. Oftentimes, they ask for these stories on repeat, or additional stories with the same theme. These get written down and sometimes developed.

I have always loved fantasy, mystery, romance books. I was looking for a trope that I felt wasnt played out and thought about gargoyles. How and why they were turned, if and how they turn back to humans. Once I decided on the theme, it all just came pouring out.
