R.J. Groves At the risk of sounding a bit cliche... don't stop writing.
But also, tell YOUR story. Don't worry about what other people might like to read etc, each story has a mind of it's own, and trying to make it something it's not is like trying to squeeze blood out of a stone. First drafts are for you. Final copies are for your readers :)
R.J. Groves It's fulfilling. There's nothing like that feeling when you know you've just finished writing a great scene, and nothing that can compare to the feeling when you finally write the ending.
R.J. Groves I lay upside-down off the couch until an idea comes to me... Just kidding. But seriously, I find that I will only get writer's block on one project at a time. I don't want my stories to sound forced, so I won't try to write more on that story until writer's block is gone. Instead, I'll train my focus onto another project. For this reason, I always have a side-project that I'm working on.

Avoiding writer's block is another matter. I'll jot down brief chapter ideas for a few chapter's in advance when I have the creative juices flowing. That way, I won't forget the brilliant ideas that jump into my head when I'm trying to sleep.
R.J. Groves I'm currently working on Book #1 of a romance series that will be set in various cities of the world (Hint: Book #1 is set in Paris, the city of love).
