April Moran I've absolutely considered telling Gabriel Rose's story! It's been simmering in the back of my mind since the day I penned his character in Taming Ivy. He's so mysterious and tragic. Thank you for reading my words...it makes my heart swell with gratitude!
April Moran Hi Sonia! Yes, there will be a 3rd book in the Taming Series. This will be Tristan's story and the shy redhead he falls in love with. I hope to have it available by the end of the year. Thank you so much for reading and I'm so glad you enjoyed the first two books!
April Moran Hey there! There will be three books in the series. All are standalones with characters whose stories are intertwined. Taming Ivy is the tale of Sebastian and Ivy, The Untamed Duke is Nicholas and Grace’s story and Book Number 3–still in the works— will be Tristian’s and Violet’s. I may add a fourth...but as of right now, the plan is for three ♥️
April Moran I don’t remember slaughtering them all, but I must have. A hatchet, bloody and knicked from striking bone, hangs limp in my hand.
April Moran Hey Mike!!!! When I decided to get serious about writing Taming Ivy, the concept of a misunderstood Poison Ivy character was just floating around in my head. For a romance novel, there is always some sort of misunderstanding on the characters' parts, and revenge is so one-sided, it was a natural line to follow for this story. But, I really didn't have a particular person in mind when writing. In fact, after the first draft, I realized Ivy was just too wimpy and perfect lol! I went back and gave her some backbone and a few flaws. Same for Sebastian- had to soften him up a little, otherwise he'd just be an over the top alpha who gets what he wants.
April Moran Getting Taming Ivy ready to be launched on 08-01-17. And I already have several chapters for the second book in the series finished. That one will focus on two characters from Taming Ivy and whew! It's gonna be a hot one!!!
April Moran Don't give up. And don't think just because you finished writing the book means you are finished! The hard part is the editing of the first draft. Good God---the editing....
April Moran Being able to dream up worlds and the people who live there. I love creating scenarios that will make you giggle, squirm, or even get a little mad. Putting emotions onto a piece of paper and seeing someone else smile as they read it because they like it is awesome. And, I won't lie - I like drinking coffee in my pj's at 10:00 am.
April Moran An old Drew Barrymore movie, "Poison Ivy", although my heroine is certainly not evil, lol. I really liked the idea of the crowd twisting the character's name into something awful based on their perception of her. Of course, revenge is a huge element in "Taming Ivy", and my opposing character tries to "tame" the heroine in order to gain that revenge. It's all good, steamy, fun romance!
April Moran It can be a song lyric, photos of places or something that I know has happened personally. I've found inspiration in poems, fashion, even hairstyles. And certain quotes will get me to thinking about what sort of story could be built around it? I think inspiration exists all around us- you just have to look for it. And be willing to look in the most unlikely of places.
April Moran I usually listen to music...my favorite genre being rock and roll. I love classic rock, alternative and some punk. Sometimes I like to just pick up one of my favorite romance novels and read it all over again-even if I've read it 100 times already. And Pinterest is awesome for getting over writer's block! It's a great place to see all kinds of creativity.
