Hi Sam,
I'm sorry I missed this note. I'm glad you got the copy of Landsend. Since it's a free short I don't have it posted anywhere, you can only get the story through me for now, so there isn't a way to review it.
That said. I do hope you enjoyed it.
Take care,
M.D. Neu

Victor's (from The Calling series) idea of a good night would depend on his mood. There are times when he enjoys a simple evening at home, alone, to just be and not deal with the world as a whole. If he's in one of his social moods (and doesn't need to 'be on' for others), he loves sports and has several season tickets to all the local sporting team, so you will find him at one of the games (football, soccer, hockey, basketball, and baseball). Hockey is something he really enjoys and if he can, he will go to all the home games. Go Sharks!

I think Middle Earth would be cool, except the lack of hygiene might be an issue, but I do like the idea of magic and mythical creatures.
The other option is the Star Trek Universe (like a Federation World) wouldn’t be bad. The hygiene would be better and you get to travel to other planets, so that would be cool too.
I guess either of those would work.

Yes. There are quite a few books. Interview with the Vampire by Anne Rice is one. Red Mars, Green Mars, Blue Mars by Kim Stanley Robinson it's a series, but I kind of count it as one. My Ántonia by Willa Cather is another one, as is The Color Purple by Alice Walker.
These books and these authors really made me love the idea of story telling. they are all so different and when I think about their works I can bits and pieces that I tried to emulate in my stories (I don't know if I succeeded but I like to believe I did an okay job.
Also, these authors all told stories that included people who you don't typically see as heroes, if that makes sense and I wanted to do the same things in my writing.
I hope that answered your question.

For my recent book, The Reunion, I got the idea from a game some friends and I played. When the game came to an end I sat down and wrote a 3000 word reunion for the main characters. From there I continued to work on the story and the characters just messing around.
Once the story was at 3600 I sent it to TallTaleTV in hopes they would pick up the story and turn it into an audio story and they did.
I was going to turn it into a giveaway piece, but my editor read it and feel in love with the story. He told me to work on it more and expand it. I did and the rest is history and I couldn't be more pleased with the end result.

Getting inspired to write can be a challenge. Sometimes you don't like writing or you have no ideas. For me I try to write a little each day. That can be anything from research or jotting down ideas for new stories. From there I focus on what I'm excited about.
If on the off chance nothing is jumping out at me. I don't force it. I do other things, like read, or spend time with friends. Then with like the mood will change and then I can sit down and write again.

Right now I'm working on several different stories. I have two more books coming out over the next few months. The second story, A Dragon for Christmas, will be releases on December 18th and my debut novel, The Calling, will be launched on January 1, 2018. So there is a lot happening right now.
I'm also working on three new stories, more info on that later.

The best thing about being a writer is the ability to sit down and create new worlds for people to enjoy and explore. The idea of having a story that matters enough to you so that you have to put it down on paper is amazing, then being able to share it with people. Wow.
