Michael C. Sahd I suppose I would choose Isaac Asimov's Utopian future. I'm a fan of my technology and freedoms. As far as what I would do? Well, I think I would write. I kinda like doing that.
Michael C. Sahd I am currently reading Out of Granada by Ben Fine. I have Einstein's Beach House by Jacob M. Appel, Storm Cloud Haze by Alessandra Wike, A Thread So Fine by Susan Welch, and The Chocolate Shop by J.J. Spring on my personal list. In addition, I'm reading the Dwarves series by Markus Heitz to my son, and will then begin the Spirit Animals book series.
Michael C. Sahd When I entered the bedroom, I was immediately struck by the gore everywhere -- on the floor, on the walls, even dripping from the ceiling. In horror, I surveyed the wreckage until my eyes fell upon that which I sought; there he stood, naked by the crib, a smile on his face and a half-eaten Ex-Lax bar still clutched in his hand.
Michael C. Sahd If I feel stuck on something and I absolutely can’t continue the story, taking a break can help. However, I personally like to move on to a different project. This allows me to keep my creative juices flowing.

Another trick I use is to incorporate a recent experience into a story. That way, I have something recent and clear in my mind to write about.
Michael C. Sahd Reading! Reading other people's stories, playing their games, or even watching their movies. These stories were created by someone, and I want to create stories too. Specifically, I want to write them. And, if they can do it, so can I.
Michael C. Sahd This may be cliche, but the best thing about being a writer is getting my story onto paper and sharing it with others. I want people interested in my work and coming back for more.

More than that, it is egocentric. I want to leave something behind. A piece of me to entertain future generations.
Michael C. Sahd Writer’s block sucks a lot, but overcoming it is not nearly as difficult as taking the first leap into getting your stuff out to an audience. I must say, after getting my first story out, I feel the pressure to publish more is greater.

Just keep writing though, it is the most important step. You can’t publish if you don’t write.
Michael C. Sahd Several projects come to mind. I have a plethora of short stories that can be expanded upon. I have over 60K words of a fiction piece that I’m currently revising and editing.

I’m not done with Damian, either. I have several pages written, continuing his adventures. I’m trying to do a little writing every day. Write “something” everyday; that’s my goal.
Michael C. Sahd I first thought of Damian a very long time ago. I don’t remember what inspired the character, but I was very young and the thought of writing a blood bath appealed to me. It was a terrible piece, and I shelved the story. However, Damian as a character stayed in the back of my mind.

Later, after watching the anime “Cowboy Bebop” and Joss Whedon’s “Firefly” series, I dusted Damian off. I wrote the first version of “Assassin Marked” during a college creative writing class. The story, inspired by these two shows, was still rough. But I kept it, and revised it, and revised it, and revised it.

After marrying, my wonderful wife (who is an amazing editor, by the way) really spruced up my story and pushed me to publish.
