I love spending the time it takes to get a paragraph, even just a sentence right. If I get stuck (which happens often), I just let it lie, and go on to another part. But mostly, I tell my brain “Okay, it’s up to you, work on it, think about it.” And then I don’t, but my brain does. Sure enough, without fail, it wakes me up at 3 a.m., or it comes to me on my run, or in the shower. I trust my brain without me, so I try to get out of its way.

Well, that's easy! Since we lived and traveled on our sailboat for 10 years from France to San Francisco with our two small children, I just had to write it all down, for them, for our grandchildren, for our family.
