I've based five of my novels on stories my late father told me of his time interviewing captured Axis troops in Italy, after that country surrendered in WWII, and then his time in the War Department, here in London. He was injured in the War but never spoke of it.

I did, Delores. Under the name of Danny Kemp, I wrote Teddy and Tilly's Travels. I do not know if it's still in publication as I changed from self-publishing to the publishers I'm with now and I haven't asked them to look at that short children's trilogy.

Last week I finished a 43,000-word novella entitled--The Story That Had No Beginning. It's a story of truth and lies that's now being proofread and then will either sit on my publisher's computer or be published this side of Christmas. For now, writing is suspended and socialising on the internet is allowed.

A writer can spend all day in his or her's jim-jams, or if you prefer, change from one to the other.

As I dragged the skeletal remains of my body from the sodden earth where I had laid for over a century adjusting my sight as I did, I saw her as a dot in the corner of where my eyes were once.
I made no sign of recognition, hoping she would pass without becoming aware of my presence, but no, she turned and I was correct with my suspicion; it was the parking warden!
