Daniel Kemp I've based five of my novels on stories my late father told me of his time interviewing captured Axis troops in Italy, after that country surrendered in WWII, and then his time in the War Department, here in London. He was injured in the War but never spoke of it.
It's the mystery of his life I would love to have known more about.

For now, writing is suspended and socialising on the internet is allowed.

Daniel Kemp My very latest (not yet published as at 21 st October 2017) is based on truth and lies.
"Do you think lying is endemic in society today?" Asks the host of a dinner party in Chelsea, London. The other three around the table add their answers until...And there I must leave it for me to know and you to discover.
Daniel Kemp I'm very fortunate in being under no pressure to write, that is I have no deadlines that I cannot reach. Therefore I haven't suffered. If I did I would write poetry until my mind cleared.
Daniel Kemp A writer can spend all day in his or her's jim-jams, or if you prefer, change from one to the other.
Daniel Kemp As I dragged the skeletal remains of my body from the sodden earth where I had laid for over a century adjusting my sight as I did, I saw her as a dot in the corner of where my eyes were once.
I made no sign of recognition, hoping she would pass without becoming aware of my presence, but no, she turned and I was correct with my suspicion; it was the parking warden!
