Colette Davison I'm so glad you enjoyed them! I loved writing them. I would really like to produce them in audio one day, when I am able to fund the narration.
Colette Davison Hi! I'm so sorry, I've only just seen this question. Wicked is still available as a freebie. You can download a copy on Prolific Works here: http://bit.ly/2qkPEBw
Colette Davison I will definitely be looking into options for getting some, or all, of my books translated in the future. At the moment I can't say when that might be.
Colette Davison Hi! A Dance For Two is first and then A Dance For You. They are loosely linked, rather than it being crucial to read them in that order. A Dance For Christmas is a short story, in the omnibus edition, that takes place after A Dance For You. Hope that helps!
Colette Davison I have considered writing a lesbian romance, but the right idea hasn't come to me yet.
Colette Davison I find timed writing really useful when I'm really stuck. I set a timer for 10 minutes and write whatever I can (it doesn't matter how terrible it is) and then I stop and walk away. To start with, those 10 minutes will be really hard, but after a few days, I'll find myself wanting to keep on writing.
Colette Davison Making people feel. Words have so much power. You can make people laugh or cry; you can make people happy, angry or sad. You can put powerful messages across, whilst entertaining people. I wouldn't want to do anything else.
Colette Davison Get it down! Seriously, self-editing is one of the worst habits of any writer. First drafts aren't supposed to be good (if yours are, fantastic!), that's what editing is for. However, if you don't get the first draft down, in its entirety before you edit, the chances are you'll never finish.
Colette Davison I'm currently working on a second romance novel, 'Why I Need You'. It picks up the story of Fin, a secondary character in 'Why I Left You'. I've just completed the first draft and I'm moving into the editing phase.
Colette Davison I'm inspired by everything! TV shows, films, novels, random snippets of conversation... everything is potential inspiration fodder and can easily lead to a spark which will form into a character. I always start with characters and then figure out what it is they need/want.
Colette Davison Writing Jamie's story was very cathartic for me, as I wrote it whilst suffering from PND. So Jamie's journey, in many ways, is reflective of my own. The love and support of my husband was one of the things that got me through it, so it felt natural to make Jamie's story a romance.
