I am inspired by people. I love people watching (without being creepy of course - I'm not talking stalking here!) and imaging their existence.
I love talking to people and drawing inspiration from their life experiences.
I also get inspired by good books, TV, movies, songs, poetry... I'll often start something and have to pause as I've been hit with the inspiration bug.

In my world there was and has been a spate of family and friends becoming brutally ill with aggressive ailments like cancer. Some have been led into an early death.
I have been inspired by the stoic approach that many of them have taken and the new perspective on life that many of them have where they start figuring out the beauty of contentment rather than bemoaning all that they haven't done and the misplacement of childhood dreams.
Then I starting looking around me and realising that the whole world is suffering from a state of discontentment. We are constantly coveting what others have and feeling like we are not measuring up. It's an ugly, nauseating way to live.
I decided that I didn't want to be at a stage of life where the Grim Reaper is walking down my driveway before finding my contentment. So I starting writing and this book is what came out of it.
