I'd rather say the story was chasing me. Choosing such a sensitive topic for my debut novel was difficult. And then a story which is more character led than narrative led, but somewhere inspiration came from the many pains I saw around me and how, in general, we chose to shut our eyes on LGBT issues. Love is love, call it by any name, colour it any way you want to, it remains the same, a pure feeling. I felt morally and spiritually drawn to my story and that kept me going.

Right now I’m working on another story concept, sort of a leaf from life. It is a fictionalized account of one of the most ‘My Gosh’ moment in my life. So these days I am trying to structure the narrative and research some details. The story is set in Africa and deals with motley of narratives.

I won't say it was easy, and there have been instances when I had taken off for days and weeks, to better structure my ideas or the least come up with one. My usual take to get over writer's block was to switch myself off my work for some time and wait for that opportune moment where one fine, random idea could hit me, to take the story forward. At others I invested my time in reading similar works to get some inspiration.
