What’s the best thing about being a writer?
Rani De Vadder Being able to write down all your thoughts, feelings and ideas. If you cannot put them into words, just write them down. However, it's also amazing to enjoy your physical book, seeing the cover, feeling the happiness you bring to others when they loved reading it.

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Rani De Vadder I started writing Draco based on a cover I was offered by my publisher. It was actually quite refreshing to work the other way around, because in a normal proces I would first write my story and afterwards receive a cover. With this cover, showcasing the girl and the red dragon, I immediately started wondering: who is this girl, and who is this dragon? Why are they together? This way, I managed to come up with a story about love, about heartbreak, about accepting yourself, cyber bullying and the importance of diversity.

Rani De Vadder Writing another 3000 words on your laptop. Progress didn't save and you gotta start over.

What are you currently working on?
Rani De Vadder A story about snakes. A story about dragons. And another story about more snakes.

How can I get your book sent to the USA? I have tried some sites, but they won't send to me. Would you be willing to accept payment from me and send it out? I would like to read something not written by Americans.
Rani De Vadder Hi! My book is written in Dutch, so I first want to check - you speak Dutch, or you understand it? I wouldn't want you to buy a book that you cannot understand. I think the problem lays with the COVID-19 virus now. I think it should be possible to order it with Amazon, but right now I think shipping is limited. Hopes this helps!

How do you deal with writer’s block?
Rani De Vadder Not (oops). I just don't write anymore until one day I get the urge to write again. I am horrible at dealing with writing problems, and a writer's block only happened to me once - I didn't write for an entire year - so I prefer to never have one again haha.
