Do you outline?
Hester Fox Hi Kayla, thanks for the question. I write very broad outlines as part of my book proposals for my publisher. They basically give the gist of the story and beginning/middle/end, but beyond that, I don't write detailed outlines and prefer to see where the story takes me.

Hi Hester, I just finished The Witch of Willow Hall and I loved it!!! I could not put it down! I wanted to know if you have any suggestions for a book with a romance like what John and Lydia had?
Hester Fox Thank you so much! That's a good question- I was inspired by the relationships in a lot of classics like REBECCA, P&P, and JANE EYRE. For contemporary books, I would say MARIANNE or THE ROSE GARDEN by Susanna Kearsley. Hope that helps- happy reading!

Hi Hester, I know this is going to be a strange question. I am part of a club that reads monthly books based on a prompt. One of the prompts for January is 'Written by an author that has the same star sign as you" Would you be able to tell me your star sign? I have looked through Google but can't find anything. I would love to fill this prompt with one of your books 🤞 Thanks

Hester Fox Thank you so much for your kind words! My writing routine is a bit all over the place these days- basically whenever I can fit in a few minutes here and there I try to draft as much as I can. That makes the motivation bit easy since I can't wait around for motivation to strike!

Love your books, My mom bought the first one the Witch of Willow Hall, we could not put it down, then I bought the 2nd one Sorry i forget the title oh Pale Harbor Something, we read that ones in days as well. Cant wait to see what your new books are.?

Hester Fox Thank you so much! There aren't any plans for a sequel, but I wouldn't completely rule out Catherine popping back up at some point!

I am an avid Goodreads reader & I just got an email about your new book, "The Witch of Willow Hill". I had to look twice to see that your first name is Hester. That is my first name & I have never known another Hester besides my grandmother who I was named after. I am from Maine & did live in Boston when I was in my twenties. I can't wait to read your book! Hello! I just had to tell you that The Witch of Willow Hall is one of the best books I have had the pleasure of reading. Trying to put into words how phenomenal it is, really would not do it justice. I talk about it all the time and tell everyone i know they need to read it. Also, I have been counting down the months and days until The Widow of Pale Harbor is out!?! Its almost here!

I loved the Witch of Willow Hall! I couldn't put it down! Thank you for that wonderful story! Do you think there will be a follow up story on Lydia and/or Catherine and their parents? I don't think authors like being asked these kind of questions, but I'm really hoping there is more to her story. In any case, I suggest everybody reading this little comment/question to read the book! It's wonderful!
Hester Fox Oh, thank you so much! As of right now I don't have a follow-up planned, but that's not to say it could never happen. At the very least, you may see some familiar characters in future books :)

Have you thought about making this a series? Having each book be the next generation? I'd love seeing how the original characters do AND seeing the times change.
Hester Fox Hi Samantha, thanks so much for the great question! While there aren't plans for a series at this time, I wouldn't rule out the possibility of some of the characters or other Hale descendants making appearances in future books!
