When I'm stuck I go for a walk, share with my critique partners, or delve into themes and ideas online with articles that will stretch my thinking. Quotes about the theme or from the person I'm writing about, articles from different viewpoints, and asking questions that force me to research another aspect are always helpful. Questions with WHY or HOW push me forward.

Read the type of books you'd like to write. Read A LOT of them! Analyze and dig into what makes each book work. Also - write A LOT! Try out different types of writing and see where your passions fall. Then learn your craft by reading about craft, going to workshops, participating in a critique group. Good luck!
