For me it's meeting people who've read my words and God's used them to bring hope, healing, peace, or joy. That's why I do it.

I once heard Seth Godin say "no one gets talkers block" so I just start trying to talk to you, the reader, imagining how you are thinking and feeling at any particular moment and what I'd say to you if we were sitting having tea together.

Having lost my mother to cancer, I then saw my sister lose her battle with the same disease. Then, just six weeks later, I was diagnosed with rectal (yes, rectal!) cancer. I wanted to be strong and survive until I found that's all I was doing, just surviving.
God said He came to give us abundant life but when life falls apart our lives are anything but abundant. We assume that if we are ever going to live the full life Jesus spoke of we just have to wait until the storms that He also spoke of, are over. In the midst of it all we question God’s love, what He says about us, and we struggle to trust Him and find the peace and hope we read about.
I met people who didn't call themselves survivors, but thrivers, and I wanted that - to thrive, not just survive. To live live life to the full even in the midst of everything life had dumped on me. These people helped me see that life doesn't have to be painfree to be full.
This is the book I needed when I was in the midst of my cancer and didn't just need encouragement and inspiration, I needed a practical, down to earth friend who understood what I was feeling and show me HOW to grab the most out of the life I was now living.
