If I'm stuck on something, I'll take a break. But I won't stop bookishness -- I'll work on another project, or start something new (even if it won't go anywhere, though often it does), or even read one of my favorite books to inspire and perk up my muse again.

My most recent idea came from a joking comment a friend said to my boyfriend while out at another friend's party. That night, it evolved in my semi-awake consciousness into a whole story!

A lot of my overall writing inspiration comes from other authors, particularly indie, who just went for it; in terms of theme, I write the things I'm passionate about, the weird dreams I have, and what I like to read. When I'm writing, I almost lose conscious thought of what I'm planning and instead the next word that appears is the one I expected to read if it were a book I hadn't picked up before.

I'm just finishing up book 2 in my upper YA sci-fi series, Faded Flare, while simultaneously editing a NA Suspense, and starting a new Urban Fantasy series... and editing for other authors and reading and working as a science communicator. Phew.
