Though I've been intrigued by human potential, transpersonal and mystical philosophies since I was a teen, the inspiration for my book — "Fearless Intelligence" — came out of my employment to develop and teach a self-awareness training for the Orange County California Sheriff's Academy. Because stress, anxiety and fear severely degrade awareness and intelligence, I realized fearlessness would promote intelligence by expanding awareness. Further, I thought the concept of being fearless would be more appealing to law enforcement officers than sensitivity or emotional awareness.
