When I was writing the last book in the Lightning Conjurer series, which has multiple first-person POVs, my favorite characters to write were Eileen and Ori, both of whom had no filter and great senses of humor. And, in Ori's case, I got to explore cultural Jewishisms that brought me a lot of joy. So when it came time to write a new series, I really wanted to write about a FMC with a similar personality to Eileen and Ori. And when a tattoo parlor with magic ink popped in my head, the first chapter of the Gilded Blood series sprang to life.
Interesting enough, Zayn originally wasn't going to show up in the first book until the very end. But as I was writing it, I decided he was just too yummy to suppress for that long!

I'm presently working on a standalone fantasy book that focuses on a teenage girl with epilepsy. I can't get too much into the details at this point, but the plot centers around time-shifts.
