How many books are you currently envisioning for the Weirkey Chronicles series? Your books are phenomenal!

Sarah Lin It will be 15+ books. I want the series to cover a substantial portion of the characters' lives and take them all the way to the top while circling deeper into the Nine Worlds, so I hope readers are along for the ride!

Hey Sarah, I love the Weirkey series! Definitely the most interesting setting I've come across so far in the genre. I wondered what's your plan for the series? Do you know how many books you'll write? Also, what were your inspirations for the series? Thanks!

Sarah Lin Hey, glad you enjoy it! If you like the setting so far, I hope you'll enjoy everything that will gradually be revealed about it.

I have a clear plan for this to be a long series, and a decent estimate for the total length, but the exact number is likely to shift slightly. The first trilogy was meant to establish the series and by the end of the second you'll have a stronger sense for the scope and conflicts. It will go into double digits.

Inspiration-wise, it was a whole mix of thoughts about xianxia, reincarnation, and isekai tropes.

Sarah Lin Though I haven't ruled out returning to the characters and world, what I originally planned and promised for Street Cultivation was a trilogy. The epilogue was a callback to "Life Has No Epilogues" and meant to show that Rick's future breaks the cycle demonstrated by the series.

No real questions, just wanted to say that I love your books - I'm on my sixth. I am enjoying Street Cultivation immensely. I loved the Brightest Shadow, but I admit I wanted the story to go in a different direction. What's your main inspiration for writing?

Sarah Lin Hi, thanks for the kind words! It's hard for me to pinpoint a specific inspiration, because I've had a passion to create from a very young age. Whenever I'm reading, or thinking about essentially anything, I keep coming up with ideas that make me excited, then it's a matter of finding the right pieces to fashion into a story.

Hi Sarah, where does "Blades Falling Softly" fit in "The Brightest Shadow" timeline ? Before or after the first book, standalone ?

Sarah Lin It's intended to be fully standalone, with most of the intersections with the main series being based on themes. That said, it's a prequel set in a different part of the world.
