From the Penguins of Madagascar!! My son was little and watching the show and I was reading about all this crime that was happening near us and I thought my mom friends were just as unexpected crime fighters as the cute and cuddly penguins, so why couldn't we become a crack commando crime fighting team?

The ideas for stories pop into my head all the time. Inspiration is everywhere, it's overcoming the nagging doubt and fear and putting my work out there for others to see that is terrifying!

Just do it! Write every day, join a group, take a class. There are amazing classes online you can take from incredibly knowledgeable and talented instructors. Find your tribe. All the writers I've known have been overwhelmingly supportive. It's fun!

So far I haven't had to deal with writer's block, just the opposite! Mom's Night Out was initially three times as long as the final version. When I found my first editor she was like, "Pour yourself a glass of wine and chop, chop chop!"
