Carlos Hidalgo I think the best thing about being a writer is being able to express myself freely. I am not a musician, an artist, poet, etc. Writing for me is my art form and my way of expression and always has been. Being able to take an experience or a feeling and share it through my writing is a pretty awesome thing.
Carlos Hidalgo If you an aspiring writer, start writing! Do not wait until it is perfect in your mind or else it will never get out there. When I view some of the first articles I wrote, I cringe, but they were all part of the process. Do you and get going and it will continue to develop over time and that process will never stop if you embrace it.
Carlos Hidalgo My writing has largely come from my experiences. Whether it is a book, an article or short blog post, I tend to draw from the experience or relationship and express it through my writing.
Carlos Hidalgo The idea of my forthcoming book came after I decided to leave the agency I co-founded in 2005. After spending almost 12-years grinding and hustling continuously I had grown the agency, but my life and my relationships were not what I wanted and by no means was this the dream I had envisioned. Since leaving, I have talked to so many like me who have experienced the same, so I decided to write about it and that is how the concept of The UnAmerican Dream came to be.
Carlos Hidalgo I am currently workin on my second book The UnAmerican Dream. The book is for business leaders and entrepreneurs who are tired of the 24/7 hustle message as being the only way to success.

It incorporates much of my story of buying into the hustle craze and highlights stories of others and ultimately is a call to finding success in our personal relationships and professional pursuits.
Carlos Hidalgo Writers block is common for any writer. For me, I take a ton of notes throughout any ordinary day. The notes may come from an article that I have read, a conversation I have had or an experience. All of them serve well as a reference and for inspiration and help break the block that can be there all to often.
