Wole Akosile This story is inspired by survivors and the unheard voices of sufferers of female circumcision. The gods of women have gone mad is a critical appraisal of this tradition which according to the World Health Organisation has affected over 200 million women world wide (1 in five women). This story is inspired by these women. It is also inspired by the courageous people from around the world who have called and continue to call for an end to these practices.
Wole Akosile Write, just write. Write about what you are passionate about. Try and be part of a community of other writers. Be patient and be open to constructive criticism. Getting mentor-ship either through your local writers guild or attending writing courses may be useful. You need to appreciate that your creative process is unique and not all advise is useful, try a few suggestions and see what works for you. I will conclude with just write!
Wole Akosile The best thing about being a writer is being able to tell stories that will ordinarily not be told or talked about. It also gives me an opportunity to give life to people's dreams, wishes and fantasy.
