L.R. Braden Hopefully!
I've been told that Tantor Audio (the company that produced the first three Magicsmith titles) need to hit some magic number of sales before they will consider continuing a series. It seems I haven't hit that number, so I will most likely need to find a new production partner to continue the series. I may be able to do that through Everand (the company currently producing my Rifter audios), but it's difficult to convince someone to produce the second half of a series when they don't earn royalties off the first book. So I'm in a tricky situation with this. But there's one thing that's certain: the more copies of the first audios people buy, the more likely it is that I can get the later books produced. I will do my very best to make sure the entire series makes it to audio someday.
Thanks for asking. :)
L.R. Braden There will be!
Right now I'm finishing up Magicsmith Book 6, which should publish later this year. Then I'm hoping to start writing the sequel for Demon Riding Shotgun. I've already started plotting out some fun scenes for it.
Thanks for your interest, that definitely helps keep me motivated. :)

Update: Personal Demons, the sequel to Demon Riding Shotgun, will release on September 29th and is now available for preorder!
L.R. Braden Currently at the top of my reading list for this summer are: "Wild Country" by Anne Bishop, "The Modern Faerie Tales" by Holly Black, "A Knight of the Word" by Terry Brooks, "The Brightest Fell" by Seanan McGuire, "Dark Run" by Mike Brooks, and "Save the Cat! Writes a Novel" by Jessica Brody.
We'll see how many of those I actually get to between revisions for "Casting Shadows" and writing book 5 in my Magicsmith series, but I'm sure gonna try!
L.R. Braden Beyond the four that are done and the one I'm working on right now, I have rough outlines for about five more books in the series. That would bring the total books to ten, though the number may shift as I move forward since plots and characters sometimes develop in unexpected ways. ;)
L.R. Braden I've never been unable to *think* of what to write... but sometimes I just don't feel like writing. When that happens, I find it's usually best to take the day off. Take a walk, read, draw, play video games, bake something extravagant. Anything to break from my routine and recharge my batteries. Then, when I'm feeling energized once more, I can get back to my writing with fresh enthusiasm.
L.R. Braden Thanks for asking. Magicsmith Book 3, Faerie Forged, will be published in January 2020.
L.R. Braden For me, the best thing about being a writer is being able to point to something I created and say, "I did that." It's the same reason I like arts and crafts.
I've always worked jobs where the work was basically to be present for a set amount of time, but at the end of the day I never had much of a sense of accomplishment. Sure, sometimes I solved a problem or helped a coworker, and that would make me feel good, but I didn't feel fulfilled.
As a writer, when I hit a word-count goal, or finish a draft, or come up with a great idea, I feel energized. I feel like I'm actually *doing* something. And because I'm doing it for me and not some corporation, I get a huge sense of self-fulfillment from every achievement.
L.R. Braden At the moment, I'm putting the finishing touches on Faerie Forged, book 3 in my Magicsmith series.
