Sim Alec Sansford Like most, not well.

The trick is to stay inspired. I take a moment to enter new situations, watching different things, listen to new music, talk to friends and family.

Of course the most obvious thing to do though is just write, even if you have nothing to say. A few words on a page are better than nothing. Get those juices flowing!
Sim Alec Sansford Creating stories, characters and situations that mean something to people. I never thought when writing The Storm that I would receive the feedback I have. It is pretty breathtaking really.
Sim Alec Sansford My advice to aspiring authors is the same advise that I heard so many times before, so I appreciate the eye rolls... but here goes...

JUST DO IT!

Don't think about it. Don't worry you're not good enough. Don't focus on word counts and rules. Just write.
Be it pen to paper, laptop, smartphone... anything... I cannot stress how important it is to just do it, and do it your own way.

Writing is an art, it can be taught, but the majority of it is you. Your imagination. Your characters. Your world.

Go for it!... I look forward to reading what you come up with!
Sim Alec Sansford Currently I am working on a Supernatural Romance for young adults. In the meantime I will be working on an array of shorts to showcase my writing.
Sim Alec Sansford For me, inspiration can come from anywhere... although I would say music is a key inspiration for me. I particularly like lyrics with a twist... re imagined works (highly recommend Denmark + Winter and Until The Ribbon Breaks). Although I am also inspired by other media, such as film, TV and even other stories I have read. Most of my characters are strong female leads, these are usually created from components of friends and family.
Sim Alec Sansford The Storm was forged from a poem I was asked to write for university about clouds. We were then tasked with creating a short from our poems. Having researched the nature of Mammatus clouds - their lumpy nature and from where their name came - I conjured the story that you are reading today.
