(view spoiler)[This was actually based on a personal experience. A family member was in an accident and had to relearn how to walk and feed himself. But during his treatment, there was a hiccup that set him back a little bit and this happened to coincide with when his love life fell apart. He gave up. And two years after the accident, he passed away. It was heartbreaking to see how he changed after giving up. I wrote this book as a way to retell his story and give him a happy ending. It was hard to write, for sure. There are parts of my love story, and parts of my late family member's story. It was something I felt I needed to tell not only for his sake, but also to help me process what had happened to him. Thanks for the great question! I always wanted to make this personal side to the story known but could never find the words. (hide spoiler)]

My next novel, which is about a lonesome man who is a televangelist-style traveling psychic that some revere as a prophet. With one look he can tell when you'll die. But his gift has unexpected consequences. Anarchy and mayhem ensue and soon, he finds himself in the middle of a murder trial.

A dream. Every book so far has come out of nowhere from a dream.

My dreams are almost always the source of every plot. But my characters and their lives come from personal experiences and family history. Nature is always inspiring any time I feel stuck.

For the love of God, for Pete's sake, ffs, never ever give up!

The best part is getting your newly published book in your hands. With other jobs, your hard work typically has intangible results. But as a writer, I can physically hold my efforts in my hands, feel its weight, smell the pages, spot it in the wild in someone else's hands. Nothing can compare!

More often then not, writer's block falls away as I type. About a paragraph in and it disappears completely. When I'm suffering creative fatigue however, I go for a long walk. Walking is the best to clear the mind while also generating new ideas.
