Sylver Michaela To deal with writer's block, I usually hop in the shower, sit under the water, and really focus on what I want to happen next. I end up having conversations with myself that turn into dialogue I use or a scene that I'll incorporate. As funny as it sounds, it works really well for me.
Sylver Michaela The best thing about being a writer is, honestly, getting to write! That may be cliche, but it's the truth. I love creating a new world with new characters. It makes me really happy to come up with a new adventure to send my little fictional babies on.
Sylver Michaela My advice for aspiring writers is to not give up; keep writing. There are going to be so many days that you feel like your writing just isn't any good. You'll read something from someone else and think, "Why can't I write like them?" You aren't supposed to write like them though! You write the way you want; it's your story, not theirs. There are readers out there who enjoy that other author's writing, but there are also going to be readers who will love yours. Do not think that you aren't good enough because one day, you'll be someone's favorite author.
Sylver Michaela I'm currently working on my next book, which will actually be a trilogy! Truth be told, I'm working on book two of that series. I want to get the first drafts of each done before I start really tweaking with them.
Sylver Michaela I drink a lot of coffee, light fall scented candles, and get cozy in my office chair. It's simple, but it works. This pattern seems to help get the creative juices flowing for me.
Sylver Michaela I got the idea for Fallen For You during a creative writing class that I took in high school. We were supposed to write one scene for a short play, and mine was just a few lines of dialogue between Raven and Kaden. What I wrote really sparked something in me, and I wondered where I could actually go with what I jotted down. Little did I know that I'd end up going all the way, turning that short scene into an actual book.
