What’s the best thing about being a writer?

Seth McDonough As a writer, I can ponder painful or embarrassing incidents from my past and seek to find something in them that’s funny or interesting and then repurpose the results for my characters’ lives. Plus, if I’m suffering from serious regret about how I handled a situation, I can invent a character with a superior personality and watch them take on the same problem. It’s a vicarious joy to imagine them doing better than I did.
