C.G. Twiles Thanks so much for this intriguing question! I don't have any cat main characters, though I do have one character with a cat (The Neighbors in Apartment 3D). I have two books—The Little Girl in the Window and The Little Girl with a Secret, with "main characters" who are dogs. Dogs are just easier to write into thrillers, I guess. I would like to give myself the challenge of a feline main character!

What are your recos??
C.G. Twiles Recently, while in Hawaii, I was in an outdoor yoga class, in the savasana position, but I had my eyes open and was staring up at the blue sky when I saw a UFO (unidentified flying object - not necessarily alien spacecraft!) which was so strange looking, with a fire burning all under its belly, and the rest of the craft was black and somewhat oval-shaped, but difficult to see because of the fire. I watched it for about 5 minutes but my phone couldn't detect it so I got no video. This the second or third time in my life I've seen something odd and unidentifiable in the sky! Have you ever seen a UFO?
C.G. Twiles Hi Liz, my characters seem to name themselves! Thank you for noticing their names!
C.G. Twiles Another domestic suspense story. This time, there is a backstory involving the most popular television show from the early to mid-aughts. I won't reveal what it is here, but if you watched TV at all during that time, you know the show. It got the kind of ratings TV shows can only dream of now. Entire families gathered together, sat on the couch, and watched it together. So different from now, when people stream content on their devices anywhere and separately. This was a real event, and the last show each season was something the entire country talked about.

I thought it would be interesting to explore what it would be like for someone to be part of that cultural touchstone, and then forgotten about. To go from blinding fame, to obscurity, all in a relatively short amount of time. What would that do to someone's brain? But it's not going to be a depressive tale of one-time star found working in laundry mat. It will be fun and suspenseful.
C.G. Twiles The idea for THE NEIGHBORS IN APARTMENT 3D came to me when I left my apartment one day and saw a sign on my neighbors' door, written in a childish scrawl, that said "I'm poisoned." The notion flashed through my head for the briefest of seconds: What if it was true? What if the child next door WAS poisoned? I mean, was I really going to call police on such flimsy evidence and risk being wrong and having my entire building despise me? Of course not. Like most of us, I assumed the kid was just writing play notes. But but but... what if? What if... it was real?

I thought it was quite a dilemma for a person to be in. And then I wanted to make it even more of a dilemma. What if my protagonist was a compulsive liar, and so her word wasn't going to be good enough for anyone?

So that's how I got the idea. And yes, the kid next door is fine.
