I don't write my book linearly. I start on several chapters. When I get a writer's block with one, I move onto another. If that doesn't help still, I take a break and start reading.

I have seen that writers are always respected. If you research well and write objectively, of course with some spice added, there are always readers who appreciate.

Great question!
I particularly get inspired by some historical fact that pops out in the news paper, some age-old controversy still bothering us. Then I really feel like writing about it, responding to the issues raised. As an instance, whenever the issue of an Aryan-Dravidian divide comes up in articles or discussion forums, then I have a lot to say on this.
I hope I have answered your question.

Great question!
I have always believed that the concept of Bharatavarsha has existed for many millennia. But there have been many threats to its existence and also many doubts about the concept. I felt that a novel which is located in the most happening period of the Indian subcontinent will be a good medium to discuss these issues.

Don't publish your story in a hurry. Do your research well. Have the conviction that your book is going to be visible for a long while.

I would go to Mohenjodaro and find the secret of the Indus script and about their urban civilisation and why it disintegrated.
