Ooh this is such a fun thing to think about, but honestly, probably where my life truly started, before I had memories of it. Because so many things have never added up

This is such a good question!
My favourite genre to read is YA,
But I love to write more spookier, thriller or sci-fi type pieces, like I’m currently working on a sci-fi thriller right now! :D

Darkness descended onto the world, the sun had exploded. A small light shone back through the dark expanse.

(view spoiler)[Ooh! Hands Down Morganville, Texas (of course before the Daylight Foundation!) I would hang out with Claire, Eve, Shane and Michael. It would be probably the best trip ever. (and if I get bit by a vamp...well so be it!) (hide spoiler)]

Currently working through the entire works of Rachel Caine, currently reading the Weather Wardens after finishing Morganville for the 3rd time last year. I also am mid-way through the Great Library series. Exciting books, and I can't wait to read the rest of them!

I quite simply, either, abandon that story for another time, or I leave it for a bit and come back when the block is gone.
I'll listen to some music, maybe take a walk... or just spend time with my kid, but I find the blocks go away if I stop focusing on them.
Don't think about the block, or what you're currently writitng.
Sometimes, I'll simply just write a short poem, or look for a prompt and bash something out. Sometimes writing feelings or emotions down helps. Just write something else until you feel able to focus on your main project.
Side projects are great for helping distract you. Even if they don't amount to anything but a good joke for you to tell later on.

Being able to do something I love and enjoy.
I love telling stories, and have my whole life dreamed of publishing a book, no matter whether it was good or bad. Just to say "Hey I did that!" and it feels fantastic.
Just being able to enjoy and share that with others.

Just Write.
Don't worry about publishing, or contracts, or money. Just write all your ideas down. Even the ones you think suck. I have an entire collection of notebooks and a file on my laptop full of ideas I probably wont ever expand on, because they just don't have the right creativity I'm looking for right now.
Don't worry about your spelling or grammar at this point, that's what editing and proof-reading is for. If you really want to write, just do so. Whether it's 1000 pages or only 20. There's no hard and fast rules.
I wish I'd known this when I'd first started writing almost 10 years ago now, (not counting those stories you make up as a child) that it doesn't matter whether it's a best seller or not. Just do it because you love it and have a story to tell. Someone will always read it. Even if it's just you. There is no such thing as failure, only learning curves.
We all start somewhere.

Currently working on another poem and short story collection, but also 2 novels are currently in progress, one is a thriller/psychological horror piece and the other Sci-Fi Alternate Universe type book. I will update progress here as I go!

Usually, at the most ridiculous times, like 3am. or sometimes 6pm when I'm making food. Music helps a lot, and without it, I doubt I'd ever be able to focus enough to sit down and write.

My most recently published book, the ideas came from many sources, but mostly a lot of "what if's" and scenarios that I'd based loosely from a prompt or two. Some of it was emotions and feelings that last year (2020) evoked and where I'd see things going. Things that I felt needed to be said, and ultimately, the worst (in some cases) possible outcome.
